Myself, John, Brian, and Johnny will be at the Digital Media Awards tomorrow evening. EDIT: And Conn! There’s also a blogger curry going on in Dublin organised by Paul Walsh. I also hear that John “I didn’t know he was a ginger til Blogorrah mentioned it”Ryan will aso be at the Digital Media Awards. Himself and John Breslin and a few others are up for the Best Blog award. (Not affiliated with the Irish Blog Awards) I got a spare ticket at the last minute so I’ve given it to Twenty. John, he’ll be the one with the slingshot.
Mobile providers not making as much. My heart bleeds.
Meanwhile the French Regulator has a pair and fights in Court to fine France Telecom a heap of money. Unlike the Poodle who capitulates and settles most cases on the steps of the Court. Or as the recent case was, they let eircom off with gross abuse of data AND agree not to find eircom at fault. What bollox.
I will never use it. But I want one. Simpsons Donut Maker.
No Wow with Vista despite the marketing.
Micheál it might not affect your reality but it reflects the reality of 350 bloody people in Cork.
Two projects I’m working on are because of ideas in the shower. I agree with Robin, I do think showers are like meditating. Only time I am away from all my distractions. I wonder are there are a lot of “entrepreneurs” like that.
And they call it pocket love. Levi’s sues over pocket design.
There’s tough bastards and there’s Sir Ranulph Fiennes. Cutting off yer own fingers. Damn.
Anyone in the Dublin area one of the people that emailed Ray D’Arcy about their eircom issues? If so email me: damien < at > mulley dot Net. Looking to talk to someone this evening.
Via ITU blog – Van Jacobson presents his talk entitled “A New Way to Look at Networking.”
Jacobson’s motivation for giving this talk is his feeling that in the last decade network research in the United States has been at a dead end. Despite technological advances, everything with networking is becoming more difficult.
Van Jacobson is a Research Fellow at PARC. Prior to that he was Chief Scientist and co-founder of … all » Packet Design. Prior to that he was Chief Scientist at Cisco. Prior to that he was head of the Network Research group at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He’s been studying networking since 1969.
Joanna Newsom at Olympia sold out. I got my tickets!
You Park Like An Asshole. Can we have one for Ireland? YouParkLikeALanger for hyperlocal markets.
YouTube added a digg button. Makes sense. Glad to see them do it though. Wonder will DIgg get even more traffic?

Driving along in my automobile. Humvee in Baghdad:
Richard has an idea to measure the impact of political decisions. It is modeled on the new site Dotherightthing.com, which as Richard describes:
lets people post commentary and links to content about the actions of companies. Others can then vote on the content and decide whether the issues discussed have a negative or positive impact.
I think the Irish version should be based not on corporate social responsibility but on the actions of politicians and political parties. Set it up, publish commentary about Irish politics (think about some of the recent furores) and let people decide on the impact.
I’d fully support, promote and contribute to this idea.
Also, it does seem that Hilary Clinton’s people are getting the web. Via JesusJarvis (the saviour of media) comes news that she has now posted a question to Yahoo! answers asking for opinions on the American Health Care System. She’s gotten 35,000 answers so far.
Someone really needs to act as a broker for the genius technology creators and political people. Both sides could seriously benefit from interacting with each other.
The Times, mentions Dublin City council is tendering for a free Wifi network. Will they do what Google did in San Fran and make back money from hyper-localised ads? Now if Smart made the WiFi network in Cork free, they’d take some of their glory. 🙂
Caught an ad on Morning Ireland this morning that the Flux show will have a show about an event that happened in a small community and how the media circus impacted on the lives of people. It sounded interesting but I’ll be in lectures so won’t be able to listen in.
35 acre subterranean Cold War City in the UK!
Do not look at this if you just ate. Thanks Andrew.

Final Episode of Lost preview:
With IrishBlogs.ie being a zeitgeist for what’s happening in the Irish blogging world it might be good for them to have a little box on the right hand side of their pages with links to the Amazon store. If someone is talking Damien Rice in a blog post, then the aggregator could use the magical Amazon APIs and tie in a link to the Amazon store.
It could monitor each blog post and then present a chart of the most talked about book, cd, dvd etc. If it was transparent I don’t think anyone would mind the small kickback that IrishBlogs would get as a result of this.
