Sinéad tagged me with the 7 things blog meme.
Seven things I plan to do before I die:
Get Broadband for All
Change Irish laws to make society a better place to live in. (The reason I’ve decided to do a 4 year evening Law degree.)
Visit the Antarctic.
Have kids. Possibly via adoption.
Fall in love and have the same person fall in love with me.
Run a marathon.
Seven things I can do:
Research things well.
Argue my point.
Understand people and their motivations.
Piss people off intensely.
Charm the pants off both sexes.
Network. I’m a pretty good people person.
Enjoy my own company. (Only child.)
Seven things I can not do:
Live without music – nicked from Sinéad but so very true.
Keep my mouth shut for long.
Art. I’m shit at drawing and painting.
Cruise through life without trying to make a difference.
Seven things that I find really attractive about the same or opposite sex:
Most but not all of these could be gender neutral.
Has a brain AND uses it. The AND is very important.
The ability to understand other people.
Outspoken for the right reasons and not to garner attention.
Does unpredictable things. Spontaneity I guess. (I did not rob this one from Sinéad)
They’d also need to be physically attractive to me if I’m to be honest. Though they need not be Brad Pitt.
Seven things I say the most:
Like – It’s a Cork thing.
Though – Actually I write it more than say it.
Cunt – Sorry ladies, for some reason this is my most used curse word.
Broadband – How very fucking sad of me.
Holy motherfucking fuck.
Not a bother.
Seven books I love:
Kicking and Screaming by Ivana Bacik. It carries a bias but she makes you aware of this. Really good read about what needs to change in Irish Law to bring Ireland into the modern age.
Neuromancer – William Gibson. This was my first introduction to SciFi and what a great way to be introduced. Fantastic book with some very good future predictions when it was written in 1984.
Use of Weapons by Iain M Banks – Sci-fi epic. And so very fantastically dark.
Emergence – Steven Johnson.
Fight Club – Chuck Palahniuk. Managed to read the book before the film came out. To me this was very fresh and had themes I hadn’t read about before. What happens when angry young men become adults.
The Dice Man. Fucked up. Funny. Fucked up.
Unsure of another one. Will re-check my bookshelf when I’m home.
Seven people I would like to see take this quiz:
Bernie Goldbach. Be nice to get an insight into the man with the mysterious background.
Tom Raftery. A blog neighbour.
Dick O’Brien. Another blog neighbour.
Scoble. We get glimpses into his personal life via commentary about his Mrs and his kid. It’d be fun/interesting/unusual to see Robert Scoble put something like this on his blog.
Doc Searls. He’s one of the Uncles of blogging. Only natural to see what his answers are.
Jeff Jarvis. Respect the guys opinions on many but not all things. Perhaps this 7 things meme might give us a clue as to how the man thinks or comes to the conclusions he does.
