Yeah so Project X is now known as the Social Media Awards. Bits from Blog Awards and Web Awards with a few categories added too. As someone mentioned on Twitter, it’s not about having a Twitter or Facebook account but how you use them.

I’m giving a talk/tutorial on Twitter at the Cork lifelong learning festival. Blacknight are sponsoring. I won’t send live abuse to them so.

Mindfield. An International Festival of IdeasDublin April 29th – May 1st 2011

Barry Kenny from Irish Rail, heavy users of Twitter, is now head honcho for the year in the PR Institute and says social media is important. They need to do more than sell expensive social media courses in there alright.

By the way, this code will get you a chunk of change off the Mash Conference in May that I’m speaking at.

Nigel from Pims talks about his take on social media after using it in depth.

Comic Sans, the documentary. Hehe, ok so.

Chris from Doodle Creative got married recently. Thought he’d try his hand at doing the Thriller wedding dance. Jeremy from Doodle is there too. Fair play to them and the others for doing it. Do you take event bookings?

Brighton Irish. Website for Irish in Brighton and around there.

So I’m giving a workshop at the Mash Conference (and my last public talk of 2011 I believe) and there should be a significant discount for those buying tickets if they use my code. Stay tuned.

Mud Run, Ireland’s dirtiest fun-run, is taking place on Saturday, 26th March at Moyvalley Hotel and Golf Resort, Co. Kildare.

Sunday, March 13th, 2011

Been asked to blog about this and get word out to (mostly) Cork based folks.

The Genesis Enterprise Programme based on the CIT Campus is recruiting for new participants this year. The programme is well-established and is a nice way to drive you from a very new and innocent business to a professional one.

Blurb:

So what’s it all about? Genesis is a 12-month, full time, rapid incubation programme that provides a comprehensive range of supports to innovative start-ups to help them establish their business successfully in a planned and focused environment.

PJ Harvey – The words that maketh murder

You only have words, and you take actions to get your words heard

Saturday, March 5th, 2011

Tony Blair to Alastair Campbell, taken from Prelude to Power.
“We’re in opposition and when you’re the opposition leader there is not much you can do. You can’t make decisions that change people’s lives. You only have words, and you take actions to get your words heard. Your policies are words because you are not in a position to put them into practice. And while that is so, and while the media are the vehicle by which our words and communicated and analysed, we have to influence them as much as we can”
