Does Leitrim really exist?

Jonathan Coulton – First of May

Beating Blogorrah to it – The Trevor is a badass too, like Vincent

Sunday, May 6th, 2007

Via the Green Party Flickr account. (Kudos for having one lads and ladies.)

We already know Vincent is a badass but where does Irish politics’ baddest badass go when he’s hungry? (And also Politician of the year) Same place that Chuck Norris goes to when he’s in Dublin – The Badass Cafe. Badasses do in fact dine there. (They have a special box that goes on top of Norris’ chair so he can reach the table.) Oh and that’s milk they’re drinking. Enough of your Marc Almond jibes. In case you need to know Ciaran Cuffe dines in Govindas while Eamonn Ryan dines on tuna friendly baby dolphins in chez Jacques.

I'm the baddest badass, mofo

FYI, Chuck Norris, son of David, is pictured on the right below. Don’t let his Koala-like cuddliness fool you. Like a real Koala, he can take you:
Chuck Norris is on the right.

These are not so much fluffy as linky. Call it an early morning new blogs on the block.

First up is Tír na nÓg aka Adventures of an Irish Mammy. Already great blog posts from this very new mammy.

Tiny Planet is the blog of David O’Mahony, a freelance sub-editor for the Irish Examiner.

Rough Hands – The blog of a Dairy Farmer in the South West of Ireland.

Bit old now but Dan Hardie has another great blog post here about Amir the carpet seller.

Finally! Woo! Yay! Rock on! Minister for Dialup Noel Dempsey has a blog. It seems his blog comments are not moderated so anyone with a blogger account can leave a message. And they have.

Calm yourself ladies (and maybe men) – John Bracken wants your vote

Thursday, May 3rd, 2007

Via the Ray D’Arcy show is John Bracken. Your candidate for Laois/Ofally:

John Bracken - Political God

There’s also a song about him doing the rounds. D’Arcy played it this morning. A lot. We must find a copy and put it online somewhere. If anyone can procure it, let me know.

Update: Song is on Mongrel

Get your Joost invites.

Fuck EI and Irish VCs, learn Mandarin. The Chinese have a Trillion to invest.

Seems someone wanted 45k to hand the main Obama profile over to Obama. Up to now it was run like a fansite. Now Obama’s people got the profile shut down instead. Shutting down your biggest fan makes sense how?

Via the Guardian is a very Fight Club looking ad for Nike, including the Ed Norton voiceover:
