30 photo prints for just 99 cents. You could just print off 30 copies of you and the Taoiseach. Or other political photos.
Via Burkie, it seems that a clever Galway taxi company has a Bebo profile and is getting a great amount of business from it. Listen and learn folks.

The ComReg Donut Rule – Or how absolutely stupid our regulator is
Thursday, May 10th, 2007The ComReg Donut Rule:
Take the traditional hollow centred donut. Put it on a map of Ireland. The ComReg wireless rules state that if you want to operate a wireless licence, the hollow centre is the area you can operate in and the doughy outer ring is the interference zone. You cannot operate in the interference zone and neither can anyone else. Stick a lot of donuts on a map and you can see that there is a lot of doughy bits on said map. Nobody can operate there because ComReg thinks operate on the same frequencies will interfere, this despite the OBVIOUS fact that people can operate competing services on the same spectrum and not interfere.
Look at the massive amounts of space in this country where service providers CANNOT go to even if there is massive demand because donut loving Homer Simpson is in charge of spectrum allocaton rules in ComReg.

Tayto are mass littering the whole country
Wednesday, May 9th, 2007Include the following words in the meeting that Tayto executives had with their “morkoting team” over their littering campaign. Viral. Dynamic. Guerilla. Paradigm. Long tail. Blawwg. Podcast. Bebo. MySpace generation. As a clever stunt it seems Tayto are running an ad campaign for a fake election candidate called Mr. Tayto. All well and good. Except…
Except only election candidates can put their posters on the poles. Commercial operators cannot. That did not stop Tayto putting their fake campaign posters on every pole in Ashbourne. See here. I’m hearing reports of other places too getting the same treatment.
Litter bugs! I’ll be calling the Ashbourne council in the morning to see will they be fining Tayto for each pole they littered on or is this allowed in the town or are the town getting a monetary contribution over this?
Edit: Despite Tayto telling the media that the posters are taken down in the evening, Mick took more pics which show they were still there at 10pm.
Watching for when they go off-radar
Wednesday, May 9th, 2007The Datamining blog recently talked about the times when bloggers don’t blog or when experts in an area avoid talking on something they would normally talk about. This left me wondering what kind ot trend analyzer could be built into feeds and IM applications etc to let you know when people you read a lot have stopped blogging. A kind of last activity notice that you have on Bebo and other sites. For example Tom Raftery has been very quiet on his blog but his Twitter account has shown activity. With it we know he met with the IDA and impressed them with the datacentre build. Sometimes his Flickr feed shows what he is up to as well.
Wouldn’t it be nice as well as to receive notices when friends go online, to get them from your IM and your bloglines aggregator if there hasn’t been any activity in a while? Maybe it’s a bit too stalkery or needy for some people but it would probably be a nice plugin for some kind of contact manager. It might also be handy for watching the blogs of people making a product and if they go all silent then maybe a big launch is on the way or an acquisition? Handy to monitor the competition too.
