New site on all things popculture – Inside The Margin

New to me. Prickly Goo is written and edited by Ruairí. So there you go.

The Terminator is in the screen cinema on the 26th. Nice.

I like the idea of easy to build Google Android apps. Blogging and even Twitter allows unskilled people to show talent. Heck, lots of people started off as web developers thanks to Dreamweaver or even Geocities.

Another BTW is on July 29th.

Feile Icarus is a premium event running in Galway for entrepreneurs and creatives at the end of August.

Vodafone UK is to become the first mobile phone operator to pass on 100% of donations to charities via text messaging, now there’s a petition to get the networks here to do the same.

The Ryan Academy has announced a new venture accelerator fund for early stage Irish tech start-ups. Bit I like is:

€50,000 in direct funding, as well as a three-month programme of support from the Ryan Academy for Entrepreneurship, which will include office space, mentorship and specially-designed networking and educational programmes

Cash is handy but mentoring with the right people is worth so much more.

The Bogus Pogues (Pogues tribute band) are playing their first gig in Róisin Dubh on Friday 16th July during Galway Arts Festival. Tickets are €10 , proceeds go towards a local community gardens project in Galway’s west end.

I love the terms and conditions for Vimeo. Usual legal speak with the human take next to them.

Via Ben The Guardian redone to show one story per page. Simple but beautiful. No ads or other competition would mean more attention per story I would guess but attention would fade quicker too I should think?

Scissor Sisters take out a fake ad on a real escort website to promote their album. Ballsy. You wouldn’t get Boyzone doing that.
