No no no no nooo. Marketing is NOT encouraging people to email 10 of their friends about your Café and sending the addresses to you in order to win something. That’s not viral. That’s very dodgy. STOP! Read what Salubri has to say on his blog.

    Gah, I actually got this and it took me a minute to realise it was actually serious, at which point I immediately deleted it.

    I mean, as marketing campaigns go, not only is it intrusive and dodgy, but it’s also just plain shit – spelling mistakes and crazy formatting ahoy. If you’re going to go so far as to start sending unsolicited marketing spam, at least make it look attractive.
