Who’s on your blog roll that should get more attention

I’ve done the various link love posts here before and I hope I’ve covered most people that stop by here, but if not, give me a shout in the comments or an email and tell me you want to be linked to.

Now, main point of business. Paige of Harrison has sent some blog love the way of some bloggers she likes. So, of the bloggers you like, how about you highlight three (or less) of em, unknowns mostly around here or to a wider audience (they don’t have to be Irish bloggers) and maybe write a bit about them and I’ll stick up your mini-reviews every afternoon til we run out of them. Thanks for the offer!

I really like Joe My God (http://joemygod.blogspot.com/)
It was one of the first blogs I started to read religiously, namely because of his humour, his skill at writing emotionally about something and not sounding weepy, and his ‘overheardinnyc’ moments. Plus some of the funniest and smartest moments are on the comments from a loyal and dedicated audience of readers.

Here are a couple of my favourite posts

My faves are Sevitzdotcom for his absolute brilliance, Gordon McLean for his absolute brilliance, and also… well, every other blog in my blogroll. I read them all religiously, as I know most of them personally. Two of them live two doors down from me for crying out loud!

(all links available in my blogroll)

I might be a bit biased here, but i love my blog…
Well, love is a strong word-
It’s probably more accurate to say: “I HAVE my blog…”
    Which i read… sometimes…

Dave from Blogography ( http://www.blogography.com ) He just writes cool, entertaining entries every day (even when he’s on holiday). I love his DaveToons as well, funny as hell.

One of the funniest entries has to be Penis Salad: http://www.blogography.com/archives/2005/06/salad.html

  6. He’s getting a cult readership already amongst the cool crowd, but I think everyone needs more Niolk. Very naughty, very mental, very irreverent, very ginger and just very funny. Reading his posts is rather like having someone shout obscenities at you while you’re hungover. I love him like I love finding old pizza in the fridge of a wet morning.

And if there’s any blog readers out there living in trees who haven’t gotten around to visiting Manuel Stimulation yet, come down, you feckin’ coconut. Manuel is a very pious fascist whose mission in life is to make everyone else see sense, as soon as he finds some in the absurdities of life and the pictures he finds on the internet. God will explain. God hasn’t let him down yet. Has a funny Spanish accent and a hedonistic brother. I love Manuel.

  7. Hi Damien,
Thanks for the opportunity. My favourite blogs – picked up from you- the swearing lady, (http://arseendofireland.blogspot.com/) the bitter pill an insider’s take on the health service (http://thebitterpill.wordpress.com/) and one breast less.-dealing with the health service http://www.onebreastless.com/

Others are Inspector Gadget (http://inspectorgadget.wordpress.com/) who talks about life in the London police and dealing with the public – a real eye opener and the Brazen Careerist- a funny American take on enjoying working life. (http://blog.penelopetrunk.com/)Both of these now have or will have published books. Keep going Sweary!

And finally a plug for my own novice blog on Irish working life. http://www.quovadis.ie/2007/06/your-chance-to-work-with-famous.html
The latest entry is about the opportunity to work with a celebrity for a day. This time for a change its discrimination in favour of the disabled- only people with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) can apply. So if any of your readers have or know anybody with RA, you can enter for yourself or your friend/family member. PS People as young as 6 weeks get RA so it’s not just oldies!
