  1. Exceptionally high pun density in there. Good work local news anchors!

  2. Rob says:

Wow, no joking about the puns there 😛

Ah sure RTE have the occasional warm mooving story.

I’ll be getting back to my project then….

  3. Brendan says:

He certainly wasn’t taking any crap from that butcher down the back of the shop. Udderly brilliant.

  4. Maman Poulet says:

Would now be the time to whisper Cowengate… for more reasons than the obvious…

RTE do a piece on a news programme with music and puns galore and it’s ok to do so? It’s ok for one bit of bovine but not another!

  5. Justin Mason says:

my culchie wife, when I showed her this, first thing she said was “is it a bullock or a bull?” you can take the culchie out of Kildare, but…

don’t ask me, I’m a jackeen! I don’t even know what the difference is. apparently it’s a bullock though. whatever.

  6. Alan Coholan says:

One’s got balls, the other has had them, erm, removed. “Bullock” doesn’t easily lend itself to as many puns though.

  7. Ruairi says:

Look at around the one minute mark – the woman waves a hanky like a matador – classic.

  8. Steph says:

Wow. Just wow & fair play to them for milking it!

  9. lilinator says:

Though also being a culchie from Kildare, I didn’t think to doubt whether it was a bull or not.

On the otherhand we have been used to so much bull of late, its really hard to tell the difference

  10. Nathalie says:

I just love the line “He passed a Tesco to come to us”. Now there’s a valued SuperValu manager!

  11. Gamma Goblin says:

This is what RTE call news reporting? Bull puns and bluegrass music? Shouldnt they leave this kind of schlock to TV3? Another reason not to get a TV licence.

  12. Christian says:

Good Lord – how many puns was she trying to fit into that opening line! Something tells me we won’t be seeing her again any time soon.

  13. Eoin says:

@Maman: exactly what I was thinking. I think this piece offends all bovine creatures and certainly offends my sensibilities. I’ll be asking RTE to remove this piece from their website and issue a broadcast apology.

  14. @Eoin I agree, it should be gone, the mooner the better.

  15. EJ says:

I can’t believe the amount of airplay and coverage this has received – it happened about one month ago. I know as it happens to be my neighbours ‘bullock’! Yes…this happens to be a supermarket in my local town and I would go as far as to say the manager set this up just so it could kick the boot into Tesco

  16. Dave Meehan says:

Ha ha classic, if only it was a china shop

  17. Daniela says:

was on the news at 8pm in Italy
