Holy Mux

Muxtapes. They’re online Mixtapes. Upload your favourite mp3s, arrange them in an order of your choose and share them with the world on Muxtape where the songs will play on a single webpage with pretty where the songs play one after the other.

Some nice Muxtapes I like are Redstamp, State Magazine‘s one and the official one from Asthmatic Kitty.

It also works on the iPhone. And you can save em on your dock on MacOS. And you can make coverflow versions too.

Do you use Muxtape, have you favourites?

Also see Cassette from my Ex, another interesting project.

    I’ve only just started listing to muxtapes (after a link you left on twitter). I like to pick randomly from the ones on the main page, bit like lucky dip.

    I had no idea that you could add muxtapes to the dock, that’s great, thanks. (I’d say I’m only using my macbook to about 10% capacity, I’m still in the frame of mind that I’m figuring out how to do things I used to do on a PC, instead of embracing the new (to me) things that the macbook has to offer)

  2. It’s also run by a strange person who takes photos of himself with no clothes on and used to go out with Julia Allison (noted pointless Internet celebrity).

    @Robert – plus he’s responsible for this: http://www.vimeo.com/173714

    Graham Linehan’s muxtape is rather nice: http://smackity.muxtape.com/

    Oh, wait. Vimeo/Julia Allison = Jakob Lodwick. Muxtape = Justin Ouellette. Whoops.

    Our “Dreadful Thoughts” horror story club project has already produced two spooky muxtapes, and pretty good ones they are too.

    I love the whole idea and have very quickly become slightly addicted. I listen to a muxtape or two whenever I’m sitting at the PC.
