The photo dropper plugin looks great. Almost what I'm looking for. I don't suppose anyone knows of a way to get the image descriptions in Wordpress image upload showing beneath an image when it's inserted into an article? Now that would be great.

I was just looking for a similar application/WP plugin and came across this Jazz Biscuit here through your blog. So I tried this and also the Photo Dropper plugin.
But I also just found an Application called ImageCodr (http://www.imagecodr.org/) where you can paste the link to a CC-licensed Flickr photo and it will generate the HTML. I think this is much better because the search on Flickr itself finds much more photos than the other applications and the HTML generated is also better.

The thing Jazz Biscuit created is great - would be very useful for me too. Time to get John B to work making it into a wordpress plugin...

Create a bookmark to Flickr Search for CC, then use the embed code they give you. Easy as pie.

Hi Damien,

I liked your suggestion so I fooled around for a bit:

http://www.jazzbiscuit.com/blogCCsearch/

It doesn't do what you asked. My tool provides embed code which you then copy and paste to your blog like the way youtube embedding works.

It uses the flickr API and should only return attribute licensed work.

Though, I take no responsibility if it doesn't work and you get sued!!! I'd check the first few images!

Damien - Segala is working with Creative Commons and it'll soon be possible to label your site with a Content Label. What used to take our developers half a man day, now takes less than a minute using the new app I showed you - don't think it included CC back then.

Closest thing I can think of is http://www.picapp.com - It's in beta at the moment but it looks very interesting. Their blog goes into more detail at

http://picappcom.typepad.com/

You could sign up for the beta, I'm sure they would welcome you on board.

A plug in that you describe would be very nice alright though.
