Fluffy Links – December 27th 2007

So Richard is moving away from SEO? Too many damned cowboys in it now in my opinion.

Check out this photo Joe took. Sacreligious.

Offer still open for the free Business Blogging Course from me. Looks like we got a venue too.

I thought this was cute and hilarious. A baby giving the evil eye. Other people did not. Tough Crowd.

Anyone seen any of these movies and recommend them?

But it’s real cashmere. Feck the price tag.

The new Knight Rider teaser.

Wired’s Top Ten startups to look out for is crap I have to say. Old companies and over-hyped ones. Fon, LinkedIn, BitTorrent? Are ye for real? Then this from the Guardian is stupid too. Twitter? Wow, is it 2007 again? Course the Economist is talking even more crap.

Not sure is this at all clever? Anti-drinkdriving ads inside a game?

This guy got Kevin Costner to come to his blog.

Grab Grindhouse if you can, its well worth it, but maybe follow it quickly with death proof. I know it got slated in the US, but really they are two special movies that attempt to break the Hollywood cliches a bit. Well worth it IMHO.

Sorry man, like the hoody but not for 200 odd.

  2. Emmet Ryan says:

Saw the Tarantino half of Grindhouse. It was dire, unbearably boring until the final 15 minutes. Admittedly those 15 minutes rocked but just were not good enough to make up for the dirge that preceded it.

The Host is one of the smartest horror flicks I’ve seen in a long time. Korea has produced some cinematic gems in recent years and this is definitely another fine achievement in a genre where it can be hard to seem clever or original.

The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters. Seen this recently. Excellent film.

    Sunshine is amazing imo.

I didn’t think the anti-drink driving ads in the game were a bad idea, I just thought they were a missed opportunity.

The ad is a stale “don’t drink and drive” poster – that wouldn’t even do much in the real world any more… why don’t they have something like:

“You’d have a hard time playing this game if you were drunk, now just imagine if it was a real car. Never, ever drink and drive.”

Only snappier so it’s easy to read in a high-speed race 😀

  6. Damien says:

Wouldn’t you actually get kids trying out drunk driving with the game with ads like that?

Thought Angel-A was great, though I’m not entirely sure I came out of it a better person! Black and white, Paris as a film set, some musings on the nature of love if that’s your bag … It looks great, naturally.

Interview was also really good – Buscemi and Miller both put in super performances in what is a very stage-y production. I don’t know why the article describes it as being nearly two hours long, it was less than 90 minutes.

I would recomend that you watch ‘death at a funeral’ only because i hate you and i feel like robbing two hours of your life…

only becuase you have a very successful blog you understand….

Yeah, like there’s a person who hasn’t already tried to play their xbox/ps/wii whilst blind drunk anyway!
