Conor,

Yes, I'd travel out to Bandon for a bloggers' BBQ. Never been to one before. And I would bring my own food, marinaded. But, given that it's ten days since your comment, there might be a tiny group, which wouldn't bother me.

I know I'm gonna regret this but if the weather ever improves, I'd consider having a Bandon Blogger BBQ. Would anyone travel to the sticks if we did?

I think it's a good idea, but only is the mix of people is right. Setting up regional meetups with the same faces time after time gets boring.

While I say that on one hand, I probably won't be able to travel to Cork for dinner. :)

[...] Damien raises an interesting point about the diversity of the socially-active Irish Blogging community. Many Irish bloggers blog for a reason - business, establishing good networking opportunitues or just for the love it. As simple as it may sound, people value their anonymity. Irish people in particular. So, you know a handle they use to voice their views - a proportion of the people will always value that invisible shield of being anonymous. That, in itself, is not the root problem.
"Uber" in this case being Swedish for "hasn't done a tap in weeks on anything he's supposed to be helping with".

Start of August good as we'll all be bored.

Looks like there is a ton of new local bloggers around so we'll just have to go spam them with comments telling them to turn up.

If I was Jamie Oliver, this would be a BBQ in Garretstown or something.
