I was sitting next to Andy when he added the Meebo widget to WordPress.com – he blogged it on the main site and linked to his own blog. For the next hour he was inundated with Meebo messages from people. He liked it for the first 10 minutes then it got tiresome

Excellent find Damien. I’ve installed it on my site and it’s nice to have the option open for people to contact you if you’re online. I’d agree with your point about just logging into Meebo without the IM connections, however I’d be against Meebo going the route of becoming a proxy bypass.
