Irish Times buys myHome.ie for €50 Million

MyHome.ie sold to Irish Times for €50m. More expansion into new markets by the Irish Times. Maybe in 5 years time they’ll buy IrishBlogs.ie.

EDIT: Thanks Conor!

doubt it. irish blogs is reliant on free content . everyone could just take stuff off

I don’t know if they’ll have the money to buy Irishblogs in 5 years time. I’m a bit dubious about the wisdom of 50m for myhome.ie if we’re heading into a slowing market.

but hey, what do I know…it’s not my fifty million quid.

And I think it’ll deflect scarce management time from running a good newspaper.

I find myself locked out of Myhome.ie because I offered constructive criticism which the designers of the website should be delighted to hear sooner rather than later. Prior to the changes it was an excellent website, very easy to navigate with excellent road maps; now I would get lost from Dundrum to my home on Ballintyre Avenue. Very unprofessional and I shall certainly say a lot more if continues as I presently have a listing with my home.ie through estate agent and it’s more than annoying. I say lets transfer all to bendunne site! And the computer from which I sent email was not mine!
