IT@Cork Geek dinner – June 7th, any takers?

Before the June 8th IT@Cork conference there’ll be a geek dinner on the evening of June 7th. Anyone wish to go? It’s a Wednesday evening. Shel Israel, his wife and Salim Ismail should hopefully be about too for this. Nothing too formal. Location and time will fit into place as we get more exact numbers. By the way, the Radisson Hotel has a health spa so bring along the spouse to the day event and treat them to the spa. If any semi-loaded company wants to pay for the meal, or a round or two of drinks then let me know.

    Damien,
Quite how geeky is it going to be? If you don’t even know how to put a photo up on your blog, would you be welcome or would you be made to sit in the corner?

  13. Conn says:

    Damien, Tom,

The dinner sounds great – and so does the conference! I’d love to be there – but I’m moving house! Best of luck with it – I’m sure it will be a huge success.

Omani, you’ve already passed the gek test by being able to post in the comments here. Everyone is welcome.

  15. […] I think this could be a good opportunity for Irish business people to meet with two very clever and influential people. There’s a chance to bring them to Ireland (Shel is already coming to Cork soon) or else the eirepreneurs could hop on some cheap Ryanair flights for a meetup in London. Additionally why not come along to the latest Geek Dinner on the 7th of June and bend Shel’s ear about this World Tour. 18. Marvin says:

will any of us from the company of expletive expletive ‘s (see Damiens posts recently) be welcome to join ye or are we too tainted by our (rather undeserved) notoriety?

..actually hang on, I’ve got a wisdom tooth to get extracted, 24 hr back alley dentistry, great deals, no offence but that might be more crack…

  19. Tom Raftery says:

    Marvin,

the dinner is an open dinner for bloggers in association with the IT@Cork Web 2.0 conference.

I asked Damien to organise it as I have a lot on my plate right now and he very kindly stepped up to do this.

If you do decide to come to the dinner, you will be more than welcome as long as you leave the attitude you displayed in your last comment at the door.
